Ingredients
- 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup white wine can use chicken broth
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 tbsp lemon zest
- 1/4 tsp salt adjust to taste
- 1/4 tsp black pepper adjust to taste
- 2 tbsp chooped parsley
Directions
1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper.
2. Heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to brown the garlic.
4. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer and cook for 1–2 minutes per side, just until pink and opaque.
5. Pour in the white wine (or chicken broth) and lemon juice, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
6. Stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and lemon zest, allowing the sauce to simmer for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.
7. Taste and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper as needed.
8. Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.
9. Serve over pasta.
