Apple Pie

Ingredients
- 1 package premade pie crusts 2 crusts
- 6 cups granny smith apples thinly sliced
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp all purpose flour
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp butter cut into small pieces
- 1 whole egg beaten for egg wash
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
2. In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
3. Unroll one pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish, pressing gently to fit.
4. Fill the crust with the apple mixture and dot with butter pieces.
5. Unroll the second pie crust and place it over the filling.
6. Trim excess crust and crimp edges to seal.
7. Cut 3–4 small slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
8. Brush the top with beaten egg for a golden finish.
9. Bake for 45–50 minutes, until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly.
10. Let the pie cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before slicing and serving.
